To tell the truth, it scared me a little bit.
I’m not afraid of the bears. We have lots of them in northern Michigan. I’ve been face to face with a few in my previous life, and was only scared a couple of times when a sow was with her cubs.
Alligators? Every time I left the camper at night, I poked my head out first with a flashlight, a bit nervous I might get eaten by an alligator. Another friend told me I’m just the size to be appropriate alligator food, which didn’t help much. Later I learned alligators don’t bother people at all. They are actually afraid of us. And until I went to a wildlife preserve, I never saw a single one, except on plates in restaurants. Honestly, what I saw in the preserve was probably a crocodile, because they live in saltwater. Either way, they have big teeth.
Rainbow People? I had no idea who the name referred to outside the LGBT community. I had to do some online research.
Turns out I’m probably one of them. Counter-culture hippies, some nomadic, and loosely affiliated within smaller groups. Come to think of it, I think most of my good friends are Rainbow People too.
Whodathunk?
You do have to watch out for the Fire Ants, though. I met them right away.
Too bad…I like having bare feet.
